It’s so crazy that in 5 days time I will be graduating! Anyone who knows me knows how much of an energetic little busy bee I am, so since finishing uni I have been up to all sorts and am loving every minute of it. Here’s a little insight…
I’ve pretty much always been someone who can’t sit still, but I’ve only realised recently just how much I do. My days start no later than 7am, and going to bed any time before midnight is a treat. I’m a planner and an organiser so I have all of my days planned out and always make the most of my time.
I currently have 2 jobs, both of which I really enjoy, and they’re also both flexible in that I get to choose my own hours and never get stuck with my work taking up my whole day. This means that around work I get to do lots of other things such as working on my own business, planning my upcoming travel, going to the gym, and spending time with friends and family.
My days really are jam packed, and I’m always here there and everywhere, but I love being busy and doing lots of different things so it suits me perfectly.
Summer is my favourite time of year. I am instantly 100 times happier when the sun is out, and I’m loving that I can now enjoy it without the stress of any uni work.
As I’ve just finished uni and am lucky enough to not have any real commitments (young, free and single as my mum likes to say…highlighting the ‘single’ bit usually!), I wanted to make this summer all about spending time with my favourite people doing all of my favourite things, and also ticking off my bucket list of things I’ve always wanted to do.
So far I really am having the best summer. I’ve been to Royal Ascot, which I’ve wanted to go to for years, had some lovely family days out including Colchester Zoo, horse racing at Great Yarmouth and the Royal Norfolk Show, spent a sunny day on a boat on the Norfolk Broads, visited Brighton (which I will always love!), and had lots of fun nights out in Norwich, Ipswich (visiting my favourite bar, Isaacs, which I always go on about!), and in numerous beer gardens beside the broads. I’ve even taken up golf and am loving my weekly lessons at Sprowston Manor!
Here’s where it gets even more exciting! Very soon (5 weeks and 6 days, not that I’m counting…) I’m going travelling for 2 months! I am unbelievably excited! I have been planning this (and saving!) for months, and it’s going to be incredible. I’ll be blogging lots more about it nearer the time, and I still have a few bits to finalise, but right now the plan is to fly to Thailand, and then on to Cambodia, Singapore, Bali and Borneo, with a few days in Kuala Lumpur, before finishing off with a week in Dubai. I can’t wait!
Although I won’t be back until mid-October, in typical Emily fashion I’m already planning what I’ll be up to when I’m home (I have a 10 year plan, so you can imagine how detailed my plan is for the next few months!) I have a couple of different options lined up, but now I’m all set up I’m going to wait and see what I feel like doing after being away.
I have so much to look forward to, and even when I’m busy working hard and something wishing I could have an early night, it makes me so happy that I am able to do everything I am doing, and I can’t wait for what the future holds.
Love Emily x
